The New Brunswick Mortgage Associate Course and the New Brunswick Mortgage Broker Education Program are the only required courses for licensing by the Financial and Consumer Services Commission (FCNB).
Both courses are offered in an online format and take roughly 40-60 hours to complete. Each have a final in-person examination.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Mortgage Broker Course contains information specific to Newfoundland and Labrador's legislation, land registration and business practices. Although this course is not yet required for licensing, it is strongly advised that individual's wishing to become a mortgage broker complete this program to learn industry basics, and legislative requirements for conducting mortgage brokering business in Newfoundland.
The Nova Scotia Mortgage Broker Course contains information specific to Nova Scotia legislation, land registration and business practices. Although this course is not yet required for licensing, it is strongly advised that individual's wishing to become a mortgage broker complete this program to learn industry basics, and legislative requirements for conducting mortgage brokering business in Nova Scotia.
